Siemens Gets 80-MW Order from RES, 100 MW from EWE
Siemens Energy has received an order for 43 of its 2.3-megawatt (MW) SWT-2.3-101 wind turbines for the Greenwich wind energy project near Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The order was place by Renewable Energy Systems (RES) Canada Inc. Once completed, the wind farm will have an installed capacity of about 100 megawatts (MW). Siemens will begin installation of the 43 wind turbines in June 2011.

Pattern Energy Signs 138-MW PP with Manitoba Hydro
Pattern Energy Group LP and Manitoba Hydro-Electric Board announced that the two companies have entered into a 27-year power purchase agreement for the sale of energy produced by St. Joseph Windfarm Inc., a 138-megawatt (MW) wind project currently under construction and located in the southern Manitoba community of St. Joseph.

Siemens to Provide Grid Access for London Array
With its 175 Siemens wind turbines and a total capacity of 630 megawatts (MW) the London Array offshore wind farm will, following completion, be the largest of its kind in the world. After Siemens Energy was selected to supply the turbines for the project, the company also received the order to connect London Array to the power supply network. The orders were place by the project’s owners Dong Energy, E.ON and Masdar. The order is worth £116 million.
