Foundations For First Six Alpha Ventus Turbines Installed
With the installation of the last of six ‘tripod’ foundations for the Areva Multibrid M5000 5 MW wind turbines, a major construction stage in Germany’s first offshore wind farm, alpha ventus, has been completed by DOTI (Deutsche Offshore-Testfeld und Infrastruktur Gesellschaft mbH & Co. KG).

REpower & DOTI Sign Deal for 5-MW Turbines
Another step has been taken towards the building of the first German offshore wind farm, alpha ventus. REpower Systems AG and Deutsche Offshore Testfeld und Infrastrukturge-sellschaft mbH & Co. KG (DOTI) have signed a contract in Hamburg for the supply and installation of six REpower 5M wind turbines. The installation of the REpower turbines is expected to begin in the middle of July 2009 on the construction site of alpha ventus, 45 kilometers north of Borkum Island, Germany.
