As the political theater in Washington, DC reaches new heights, I believe we should be thoughtful of what the clean energy community should expect, act, and stand for. Already certain leaders of the national renewable energy and efficiency associations have publicly stated they would accept the inclusion of coal and nuclear in a “National Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard” or a “National Clean Energy Standard.”

Is Current Wind Growth Sustainable?

New figures show wind installation continues to break records both in the US and Europe. Is this growth sustainable? If yes, what will continue to drive wind forward? If not, or not at its current rate, which factors might slow the industry’s progress?

Don’t Think of a Solar Panel

For all the recent discussion about climate and carbon, I think we’re missing a critical point. Climate is only one part of the larger global economic, energy, and environmental picture. To accurately depict the challenges and opportunities that we face, both politically and economically, we shouldn’t be focused solely on climate.
