Senate Bill Could Block Solar & Wind Projects in California
U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) last week introduced a bill that she says will improve the federal permitting process to advance large-scale wind and solar development on suitable lands. But opponents argue that it will simply block renewable energy development on some federal lands in California.

200-MW of Milford Wind Project Completed
This week, First Wind announced the completion of the first phase of its Milford Wind Corridor project. Located in Millard and Beaver County, Utah, the first phase of the project has a capacity of 203.5 megawatts (MW), making it the largest renewable energy facility in Utah.

DOI & FERC Announce Agreement on Renewable Energy Development
U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) Secretary Ken Salazar and Acting Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Jon Wellinghoff announced that the two agencies have made plans to work together in order to facilitate the permitting of renewable energy in offshore waters as well as on land.
