The solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) is pleased to announce the release of the white paper, Decoupling Utility Profits from Sales: Issues for the Photovoltaic Industry, providing valuable insight into a regulatory policy option that addresses the business disincentive that some investor-owned utilities face when their customers install a solar electric system and as a result purchase less electricity from the utility. Decoupling changes the way a utility’s revenues are structured so that profits are no longer explicitly tied to electricity sales. Wind Power Experiencing Exponential Growth Globally

A new study from Energy Watch Group “Wind Power in Context – A Clean Revolution in the Energy Sector” shows that there has been exponential growth in wind power capacity since the early 1990s. With net capacity additions of almost 20,000 megawatts in 2007 the report suggests that, contrary to IEA forecasts, growth of wind power additions will continue and that it will be driven not just by costs for fossil fuels and nuclear cost overruns, but by access to new wind resources, new grid regulations and by cheaper and better wind technology.

SEPA Releases "Utility Solar Tax Manual"

The solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) is pleased to announce the release of the Utility solar Tax Manual, providing timely clarity regarding solar tax credit changes for the utility and solar industries. The manual also sheds light on the implications of these changes on new business models for both industries and their customers.
