Horizon Wind Signs PPA With Snohomish PUD

Horizon Wind Energy LLC has entered into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Snohomish County Public Utility District (Snohomish) in Oregon to sell renewable wind energy from the Wheat Field Wind Farm. Horizon’s Wheat Field Wind Farm, located in Gilliam County, Oregon, will have an installed capacity of 96.6 megawatts (MW) and will use 46 Suzlon S88 2.1-MW turbines.

This week, political leaders from Colorado joined representatives from Vestas at a press conference held at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Denver, Colorado. Against the backdrop of a 131-foot wind turbine blade produced at Vestas’ factory in Windsor, Colorado, the participants discussed the company’s expansion in the U.S. as well as public policy measures needed to further strengthen wind power’s role as a necessary and vital part of the nation’s energy future.
